TUESDAY SEPT 1 is the A3C3 MEETING in YPSI at the CORNER BREWERY at 7 PM. The activities… catch-up on happenings, planning for October, and FILM SCRAMBLE.
Film scramble is where you bring a roll of 35mm film and place it in a bag. Then everyone takes a turn and pulls a roll of film out of the bag. You have a month to shoot it, and bring the results to the next meeting on 10/5. No wimping out. Show us your prowess.  There will be extra rolls of film in the bag for those that forgot to bring a roll, and to introduce new folks to the fun of film.

Show us your results!

Of course, film cameras are a lot of fun.  Most of us shoot with them on a regular basis. img259If you have some images that you’d like to share on our web site, send them to me, and I’ll start featuring them on the site.  Don’t make them any larger than 800 pixels on the longest side.  Include the camera used, type of film, and any other information you wish to add. We’ll start doing them weekly.

The above image is from a Debonair plastic camera. 120 film.  Taken October 2013.

shootfilmThe Film Photography Project (FPP) folks will be making a one-day visit to Ann Arbor on Saturday, October 3rd.  We will be joining forces for a one-day walk-about in Ann Arbor, with the likes of Michael Raso, Leslie Lazenby, Matt Marrash, Mark O’Brien and other FPP and A3C3 partcipants.  You’ll need to pre-register (which is FREE) so that you will get your lanyard and name tag and a goody bad with plenty of fun stuff from the FPP folks.  You’ll need to register  with Leslie Lazenby at

The FPP has a page about the walk.

We’ll start at CameraMall (518 East Washington Street) around 9 and end up at the Argus Museum. Stay tuned for more information!

We are back!

Our former web site was hacked, so rather than continue with it, we are starting over with a new website, domain name, and doing it all via WordPress, which has a bit of a learning curve, but is very good overall.  Our new domain, is a bit more on target, and of course, those in the know should realize that A2 = Ann Arbor.

It’s been a crazy year for us, and we are looking to fill some open slots on the A3C3 board.  We are looking for someone to be the secretary, and another member-at-large would be good to have.  Also, as our positions are 2-year terms, elections will be held late this year for 2016.

We have had some great times, and we had the pleasure of presenting Cheap Shots III back in May, at the Argus Museum.  Some fine examples of work done with holgas, pinholes, etc. (as in real crappy cameras), and we had a great review in the June Ann Arbor Observer.

Several Photowalks have taken place, the latest being at Cranbrook on August 8th.  It’s always a lot of fun getting out there to shoot, and Cranbrook deserves repeat visits.
