Our New Leader – Heather Gardner!

The news is a bit behind, but Heather Gardner is now the A3C3 Manager.  She’s been an active and enthusiastic member for several years, and plans to make the A3C3  more active in the near future.  Mark O’Brien stepped down as the manager, and Heather will bring some fresh ideas and young blood into the group.  We have only had two previous managers prior to Heather, and the first was Mike Myers, who ably served from 2007-2014.  Mike and Mark are two of the founders of the A3C3, and are glad to see Heather take the lead role.

However many activities and initiatives that Heather may have in mind, she cannot do it without member participation!   While we have several members that make almost every monthly gathering, a greater number attend infrequently.  Heather would like to see improved membership participation, and that will make the A3C3 a much more interesting experience.

Meetings are currently the second Thursday of the month from 7-9 pm, and the venues change, so watch our Facebook page and this website for meeting information.

September 2017 Meeting

Okay Crappy Camsters, our next meeting is Thursday Sept. 7 at The Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. 7-9 pm. Thanks to the generosity of Roy Schmidt, there will be a grab bag of free crappy cameras for you all. The only condition is that you must shoot with the camera you choose in the next two months and show us prints in December.

The results are in for the monthly meetup

The online poll was very interesting, and determined when our monthly meetings will take place — the first THURSDAY of the month, 7-9 pm.    Our next meeting will be Thursday, August 3, 7-9 PM at the Cultivate Coffee and Taphouse, 307 N. River Street (next to Photo St!), Ypsilanti.

Bring you newest project, your latest camera find, your photos of summer, and of course, a sense of humor, as we gather for the first time at our new spot and day of the week. Let’s make plans for future events, so bring your thinking caps.  I am posting images from the poll to show how the voting went.

It looks like a lot of you are interested in exhibiting, so let’s plan on what type of exhibit we would like to have in the next 6 months.

The JULY MEETING is JULY 10 (SECOND MONDAY) at Mark’s house, 2104 Needham. 7-9 pm. Bring your favorite beverage and a snack if you wish. See you then.  They have a lovely garden and places to sit, so maybe think about portraiture using your film camera.
